Water is an important part of the school curriculum at all levels. It is also a very important issue to many organizations. The result of these two realities is that there are a good number of lesson plans on the internet, ready and available to teachers everywhere. For our water project, Senior School Programs Educator Annick Deblois had to come up with a new and innovative way of reaching teachers. In her words, she explains the new direction we are taking with school programming:
Finally my dream is being realized! A new era is beginning. We are beginning to explore professional development for teachers in a serious way. And there couldn’t be a better fit than that between a museum and/or faculty of education and the school boards to help teachers further their careers. To do this we are using the prinicle of learning communities.
I am very excited about the first meeting.
A new direction in helping school kids learn about water. And a new partnership for the Canadian Museum of Nature.
